The famous “Chariots of Fire” West Sands in St Andrews saw another epic run as three of Scotland’s top chefs limbered up in brilliant style for the St Andrews Food and Drink Festival, which starts tomorrow (November 2) and runs until December 1.
The festival will be launched at the specially extended Fife Farmers’ Market in St Andrews –complete with pop up restaurant and five star cookery demonstration- and will come to a head on the weekend featuring St Andrew’s Day.
The food festival events on St Andrew’s Day – including the unveiling of a spectacular ice sculpture – will be followed by the switch on of the town’s festive lights, a parade led by a pipe band, and an outdoor mass participation ceilidh.
During the month there will be tastings in the VisitScotland Information Centre, cookery demonstrations in the town hall, special menus, food related exhibitions, a festival dinner at Fairmont St Andrews, and sampling wines, spirits and Fife-brewed beers with local businesses.
