A number of free workshops are being held in the town hall on November 28, and they are open to business representatives and enthusiasts.
The sessions are being run by Carole Fitzgerald, who is an ex-hotelier, founder of The Seafood Trail and author of From Crabshack to Oyster Bar.
She now combines a career in food photography/styling/teaching and writing with running her own event catering business.
Carole said that it’s impossible to properly market a country inn, a bed and breakfast or a restaurant without showing the quality and the presentation of the food.
“Words – no matter how creative they might be – just don’t get the message across as well as beautiful photographs of delicious food.
“The good news is that you don’t need to be a professional photographer these days to capture the essence of what you do.
“If you are in the hospitality business, this workshop will provide you with the skills and vision to style and shoot photographs of the food that you serve.
“It will also encourage you to think more widely about what it is that you do so well that will encourage guests to your door.”
Carole said that good photography and great images tell a story and showcase what businesses do.
Participants will be encouraged to identify the unique characteristics of their business, set up and style various food shots, showcase the essence of their business, and discover how to use images on line.
