Festival Burgers, Fish & Chips

Fish & chips and burgers have come a very long way in recent years – and just how far will be deftly demonstrated during the St Andrews Food and Drink Festival.

IMG_0298 cromarThe two thriving town centre businesses, Cromar’s and the Tailend, are dishing up some very tasty and creative seafood fare during a number of events.

At the Tailend there will be special tastings of the Christmas menu (2.30-4pm Nov 24), a filleting class where customers can prepare their fish and then see it cooked(12-3pm pm Nov 26), a “World’s Your Oyster”” session featuring and international array of sea food dishes (2-4pm Nov 27), a Sunday Seafood Brunch (11.30-1pm November 30),and two Saturday evening “Canapes and Bubbles” with wine talks (7.30-10pm Nov 22 & 29).

Cromar’s is hosting a special evening of Moules Frite two saucy ways (5-10pm Mon 24) and a whole day offering the classic Italian Fritto Misto – varied seafood lightly fried in flour and a classic batter – (noon-11pm Nov 26).

DoubleCheese BackHorn goodOn the burger front, the busy BlackHorn will be offering “Nine Great Burgers That Shook the (Burger) World”, with a a different slant for each day of the festival (all day Nov 22-30)
